Creative Opening Workshops with Maisie-Jane
A Meditative Printmaking Workshop

This is not a traditional art class. It is a welcoming, supportive space for people—especially those who feel they are “not artistic”—to relax into making, let go of perfection, and reconnect with their own creative intuition. It is an accessible, process-based printmaking workshop designed to build confidence, creativity, and connection.
Using gel plate printing, natural materials, layered textures, and simple mark-making, participants are guided into a calm, absorbing creative process that feels much like meditation in action. No previous art experience is needed.
What makes this different

Unlike traditional lino or woodblock printing, gel plate printing is immediate, intuitive, and full of discovery. Leaves, ferns, stencils, textures, and layered colour are used to create one-of-a-kind prints—each one unique. The process encourages presence, playfulness, and trust in what emerges naturally.
It becomes less about “making art” and more about opening space for expression.
What participants receive
- A real sense of creative confidence
- A calming and grounding experience
- A meditative creative practice they can return to
- A collection of unique handmade prints to take home
- A renewed relationship with their own creativity
Many participants leave surprised by what they are capable of creating. The most common feedback is that people feel inspired, empowered, and surprised by what they create.
This workshop is especially well suited to spaces that value mindfulness, wellbeing, and personal growth.
It complements yoga retreats, meditation centres, spiritual communities, and wellness programs by offering another pathway into presence and self-awareness—through making.

Practical Details
I provide all materials and equipment required, including q printed guide and reference for each participant.
The venue simply needs:
- tables suitable for working
- access to a sink with running water
- a well-lit space
A group size of 6–8 participants allows enough space for individual support while maintaining a relaxed and connected atmosphere.
Over the past four years, I have facilitated 15 one-day workshops using this method across a range of venues, including five one-day workshops at the art studios at Chenrezig Buddhist Centre on the Sunshine Coast. If you’d like to host a workshop, collaborate, or discuss a tailored offering for your space, I’d love to hear from you.
